San Diego Boca FC Partners with Vigilucci’s Restaurant Group
August 9, 2010 – San Diego, Ca – San Diego Boca FC today announced a partnership with Vigilucci’s Restaurant Group, a San Diego based Italian Restaurant chain operator which owns and operates several local restaurants in San Diego County including Coronado, Carlsbad, La Jolla, Leucadia and Encinitas.
Souheil Jawad, Chief Operating Officer commented, “We are very excited to have this newly formed partnership with Vigilucci’s Restaurant Group. Vigilucci’s Restaurant Group owns and operates several local restaurants in San Diego County. Vigilucci’s will be the official restaurant for San Diego Boca FC club 2010/11. We are excited to be working with Roby Vigilucci and his restaurant team to promote and market both of our businesses hand in hand. We have our annual team banquet this month at Vigilucci’s as our entire team, family, and friends will enjoy the wonderful Italian food and hospitality that Vigulucci’s provides to all of its customers.

In August 1996, just months after Major League Soccer played its inaugural game, then-commissioner Doug Logan said San Diego was a “prime candidate” for expansion — that it was more of a when, not if, proposition.
In 2000, new MLS commissioner Don Garber removed San Diego from a list of potential expansion cities and said “it’s certainly not the hot market it once was for us.”
July 18, 2010-- Sacramento, Ca -- Amir Vafaee scores San Diego Boca FC's first goal in the first half of Sunday playoff match in Sacramento on a first time volley to keep pressure on the Sacramento Gold. The Gold played well enough to hold off Boca FC's constant attack throughout the match as the final ended 3-2 Gold.
July 23, 2010 -- San Diego Boca FC Head Coach Papo Santos as he watches his team during its 3-2 loss in Sacramento in the Western Division Championship Game. Santos has done a great job in molding SD Boca FC into a solid competitive NPSL club in 2010 and looks forward to building the club into 2011.
